Military Academy Information Night

I received this letter from Congressman Michael Grimm:

On April 15th, 2013, my office and I will be holding a Military Academy Information Night for rising high school seniors and juniors who would like to know ,more about our nation's service academies and the possibility of a career serving in our nation's armed forces. The event will be held at Monsignor Farrell High School.

Ever year it is an honor for me to select the best and the brightest from our district to enter one of the United States four services academies. They are West Point (US Army), Annapolis (US Navy), Colorado Springs (Air Force), or Kings Point (US Merchant Marines).

As a Marine, I can tell you that one of the greatest feelings in the world is putting on the uniform, and I hope that interested students in our community will take advantage of this information night and learn more about our nation's excellent service academies.

If you have any questions please contact my staff member Mike Kilcommons. He can be reached at 718-351-1062 or by email at mike.kilcommons@mail.house.gov.

Sincerely,
Michael G. Grimm
Member of Congress

Financial Aid Links and Info

Before I post some lengthy information about the Financial Aid process, I wanted to give out some information on some upcoming events regarding Financial Aid. Everything I mention will be a great help to students and parents alike as the process can be tricky and confusing the first time through. Filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is a necessary step in the college application process - no matter how high or low your family's income is!! This is very important to remember. You may be eligible for federal aid that will help lower the cost of college.

There are some great informational sessions coming up in the new year that will help you to start and complete the FAFSA process!

It also shows institutions where tuition and fees and net prices are increasing at the highest rates.
