Young Entrepreneurs Academy

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy is for students in grades 9-12 who have demonstrated creativity, innovative ideas, academic effort, determination, enthusiasm, the ability to communicate, and a commitment to their community and family. Students who apply to the YEA! should be responsible individuals who pursue goals with tenacity. Prior experience in business is not required.

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy is an AWESOME program that teaches young people how to build their own business, including making a business plan, budgeting, and marketing, among other things. They also have the opportunity to meet with many local business people on Staten Island and around NYC and build their professional networks. The culminating event of this program is a "Shark Tank" type of panel where students present their business plans to a panel of investors who actually invest money into the businesses.

YEA alum from McKee HS include Adam Said (Neph-Thys Studios), Jessica Padillo (Creations by Jay), and Stephon Barrett (Re-Furb). The students who have participated in this program have always raved about it and everything they've learned from the program. Apply now to be a part of this great program!

Applications are accepted and student interviews are conducted on a rolling basis. The YEA will grant admission to a max of 24 students annually. Applications for the 2015-16 academic year will be accepted until such time as the class cap is achieved. Applications can be picked up in the Guidance Office by your Guidance Counselor (Ms. Pecora Jrs & Srs; Ms. Ippolito Fr. & Sophs; Ms. Licata AVID).
