Applications are being accepted NOW for the COOPER UNION SATURDAY PROGRAM 2014-2015 year.

Saturday Program  offers 7 free studio art courses enrolling 220 NYC public high school students. Classes meet from 10am - 5pm on Saturdays for two semesters, October through April. This schedule provides the intensive, discipline specific, studio time necessary to explore media, techniques and concepts for both beginners and students with prior art experience.

This program is offered to students at NO CHARGE.

Courses offered for grades 9-12 are:
Drawing, Painting, Graphic Design, Sculpture, Architecture, and Sound Compsition
Students do not need prior experience; only motivation and a written application are required.
Applications are due September 23rd, though late applicants are accepted as space is available.

For High School Seniors our 2-semester Portfolio Preparation Class supports students competing for admissions to art and architecture colleges. This intensive studio course work in a range of media and results in a final, professionally photographed 20 piece portfolio. Installations, collaborative projects and a series of studio visits with professional artists complete the year. Applicants to the Portfolo class MUST attend an informal work review on October 4th.

All Saturday Program classes make field trips to museums, galleries, and urban cultural sites.
Creative Writing Workshops are integrated into each visual arts curriculum.
The program year culminates in April with an Annual Exhibition and Spoken Word Performance.
