Please
save the date for the 6th Annual Latino College Fair on Saturday,
November 23, 2013! On that day a free “Planning and Paying for College
Workshop” and Latino College Fair will be held at Fordham University, Rose Hill Campus in Bronx, New York. The event
will feature an afternoon full of college information important to the Hispanic
community and more, including:
§ a
“Planning and Paying for College” workshop with a panel of financial aid
experts;
§ a
College Fair with 50+ private (not-for-profit) colleges and universities in New
York represented;
§ “Ask
the Financial Aid Experts,” available during the Fair
The
“Planning and Paying for College” workshop will help students and their
families understand the financial aid process and programs. It will cover college
affordability, explanations of grants and scholarships, plus financial aid
forms, terms and deadlines. There will
be a number of college financial aid professionals available to answer
questions during a panel session following the presentation. Spanish
translation will be provided during the workshop (headsets) and
Spanish-speaking financial aid experts will be available at the Fair for
individual meetings.
The
College Fair will allow students to speak with college admission
representatives from a wide variety of independent (private, not-for-profit)
colleges and universities in the state.
