Latino College Fair

Please save the date for the 6th Annual Latino College Fair on Saturday, November 23, 2013! On that day a free “Planning and Paying for College Workshop” and Latino College Fair will be held at Fordham University, Rose Hill Campus in Bronx, New York. The event will feature an afternoon full of college information important to the Hispanic community and more, including:
§  a “Planning and Paying for College” workshop with a panel of financial aid experts;
§  a College Fair with 50+ private (not-for-profit) colleges and universities in New York represented;
§  “Ask the Financial Aid Experts,” available during the Fair
The “Planning and Paying for College” workshop will help students and their families understand the financial aid process and programs. It will cover college affordability, explanations of grants and scholarships, plus financial aid forms, terms and deadlines.  There will be a number of college financial aid professionals available to answer questions during a panel session following the presentation. Spanish translation will be provided during the workshop (headsets) and Spanish-speaking financial aid experts will be available at the Fair for individual meetings.

The College Fair will allow students to speak with college admission representatives from a wide variety of independent (private, not-for-profit) colleges and universities in the state.

More information will be sent out early in the school year (flyers) and may be viewed on the registration page (optional, but helpful for our planning): https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2013LCFGenReg. If you have questions, please call Sabra-Joi Dingman at 518-436-4781 or sabra@cicu.org. We look forward to seeing you at Fordham University on November 23!

Sincerely,
